It’s that time of year again! Time for the annual Speer family Christmas photo card!
*wild applause, loud cheering, and peppy music here*
This is always a tough decision. We’ve run the gamut on how to select a picture for the card. Do we…
1) Visit some exotic location and pester complete strangers to take pictures of us together so we can use it for our Christmas card photo? (ca. 1999)
2) Convince a friend who takes pictures for a living to come to our house and use up an entire ROLL of film taking pictures of us in front of our Christmas tree, all while having his wife stand behind him jingling my keys to keep the baby from crying? (ca. 2000)
3)Â Stage family photo ops all year long – mostly by pestering complete strangers to take picture after picture of us – and then select from the best-of-the-year’s choices? (ca. 2001)
4) Plan a family outing to a festively decorated mall where we wander endlessly looking for that *perfect* backdrop for our family to pose? (ca. 2002)
5) Blatantly “borrow” from the decorations of another, namely: the CHURCH? (ca. 2003)
6)Â Decorate the house and stage a family photo op in front of our tree/mantel? (ca. 2005)
7) Hope to get lucky with one or two random family vacation photos where we actually remembered to get all 4 of us in the picture? (ca. 2006)
or
8) Just forget the whole thing and send out our cards in May? (ca. 2004)
Well, that moment of truth has arrived. Please help us save our sanity – and yes, our dignity – by helping us to choose from one of these ready-to-go choices. Remember that this is a decision not to be entered into lightly, but rather with much forethought and preparation. (and it wouldn’t hurt to spend time in prayer to discern God’s will. *grin*) Make your choice wisely, as it will impact forever the image you receive in your mailbox in the coming weeks… (and isn’t that thought alone enough to make you run, screaming, full-tilt away from your computer)
And the nominees are…
for “Best Special Occasion Family Photo (Non-Holiday Category)”…
“Trey’s Blue & Gold Cub Scout Banquet, February 2007”!
For “Best Family Vacation Photo”…
“San Antonio Riverwalk, August 2007”!
For “Best Special Occasion Family Photo (Holiday Category)”…
“In Front of GBC’s Christmas Tree, December 2007”!
So please, all 10 of you, cast your votes. Help us decide which picture YOU, the people, will receive. The decision is yours, America. Best of all, it’s FREE – no text messaging rates apply! And remember to vote early…and vote often.
(and you’ll have to do it in the comments section because I don’t know how to create a poll on my blog. So there.)

LOVED seeing you…we’ll have to trek up to Anna to see you in your new ministry!! Wish it could have been better circumstances, but as I told another longtime PCBC friend-now-moved, that’s what Heaven will be like, right? (she said, except without the crying…and I said, we’re women, we’ll still find a reason to cry, right?? lol)
Deb – I love them all but will agree with Carla.
Definately #3! I like that one best….even if I didn’t take it!
For me, nothing says Christmas like a good lei, so mark me down for #1.
