Threads of Gratitude – Week 2

It’s Thursday again, and you know what that means.

Well, yes, it does mean that tomorrow’s Friday, and that there’s only one day of work week left, but that’s not what I was going for.  And yes, it does mean Thursday night football, but that’s not quite the answer I was expecting either.  Sure, for a time it meant must-see TV on NBC, but not any more.

Fine.  For all you smartypants out there, the CORRECT answer is “Threads of Gratitude day!”  Sheesh, that was hard.  I’m certainly NOT grateful for all you smug little brats who made that such a difficult process.

So what am I grateful for today?  Let’s see…

  • a husband who celebrates another year of life today.  Happy Bither Day, Matt!  May you have many more!
  • a husband who makes me laugh…at him, at me, at each other, at our crazy life.  No one should take life too seriously.
  • children who love me even when I’m at my worst.
  • students who practice.  *grin*  And even those who don’t.
  • rainy days that make our grass green and our trees grow.
  • sunny days that lift my mood.
  • great friends to share life with.
  • a church that’s committed to discipleship.
  • God’s continued faithfulness and provision for our family.

How ’bout you?  What do you have to be grateful for today?

  1. .That the teen-aged boy who ran into my car (while it was moving) wasn’t seriosly hurt

. That my car was damaged but not as seriously as could be

. That our first Meet-the- Teacher night had lots of parents and seemed to be successful (although the administration forgot to alert the maintenance staff so some things weren’t done that should’ve been)

. That the Lord provided peace, calmness and strength when things were going awry numerous times this week so had extra work to do that others should have done

. For listening to my 3 year old grand daughter on the phone telling me about her day at school with her dramatic “Oh my gosh, grandma…”

. For the undeserved but wonderful love of God, family and friends
