Threads of Gratitude – Week 3

This week has certainly been an emotional roller coaster.  There is so much going on in our lives and in the world around us, with so much upheaval, that it could be difficult to find things to be grateful for.  But I think it’s in times like this when we really need to focus on being grateful, to keep from being overwhelmed by all the bad news, but also to remember all the good that surrounds us every day.

So today, I choose to be grateful for:

  • my ever-growing and expanding Cub Scout den.  These boys are precious!  Noisy, rambunctious, and energetic, but precious!
  • strong and healthy children who are growing and learning new things every day.  I’m so grateful I can be proud of my kids!
  • a terrific Beth Moore Bible study on the Fruits of the Spirit and a fantastic sermon series and study guide on “Ordinary Heroes, Extraordinary Faith.”  God just keeps hammering those lessons on His faithfulness into my brain.
  • the love and fellowship of great friends and great food (Lisa, that one’s for you!!  *wink*)
  • cooler weather – even if only for a few days – that allowed us to turn off our a/c and enjoy having the windows open!
  • knowing that death is not a final good bye…and awaiting the joy of someday being reunited.

Life may not be easy or pleasant, but it’s good to be grateful.  May you find reasons to rejoice today as you think about all the ways you are blessed.
