Two of my weekly shows have come to an end: “The Bachelor” and “Dancing with the Stars.” I realize “The Bachelor” ended last week, but with the busyness of Thanksgiving preparations I didn’t have time to post a reaction. So here goes…
The Bachelor
This was the first season for me to actually watch the show, all episodes from beginning to end. And it will be my last. Not necessarily because of the way it ended, but rather just the whole emotional roller coaster…it just got kind of tiring. And I must say that though the romantic in me was disappointed that Brad finished without choosing either Jenni or Deanna, this was probably the truest, most honest moment in the history of the show. Only one other Bachelor has remained with the woman he chose – all the rest have moved on, whether remaining single or marrying someone completely different. The fact that Brad recognized that his feelings weren’t true and wouldn’t last was refreshing to me. Now, on the other hand, his apparent fear of commitment is something he will have to work on or he will never find the wife he so desperately wants.
Dancing with the Stars
This was definitely not my favorite season. I found the competition at the early stages tedious and ho-hum. Sabrina’s early exit made me fear the worst for the finals – but Mel B. and Helio managed to save the day. Though no one can deny Helio’s consummate charm and his zest for life is infectious, I was still hoping for a woman to win the competition. But alas, ’twas not to be…once again a man claims the coveted mirror ball trophy. *Sigh* Oh well, there’s always next year.
My DVR won’t know what to do with itself on Monday nights now. Who knows? Maybe I’ll actually have time to – oh, I don’t know – SCRAP??
Okay, so, I’ve watched the last three seasons of the bachelor – all the episodes – and I don’t know WHY I keep torturing myself. Last season ended nicely – this season was HORRIBLE. It’s crazy how I get caught up in all the emotional drama. And, yes, I was pulling for a girl to FINALLY win Dancing with the Stars and about cried when Sabrina got kicked off weeks too early. You and I should direct these shows – they would turn out much better.
I agree wholeheartedly. And an added bonus, not only would they turn out better, but you’d have no question about how to pay for seminary! lol *wink*
