A Really Good Friday

I already had a Good Friday post, so I’m posting this one a week late. Last Friday we had a really Good Friday.  Actually, it was a GREAT Friday, but the calendar specifically says, “Good Friday” so I guess I’m going to have to go with that.  Several years ago, when Matt was working for… Continue reading A Really Good Friday

Debily’s Top 40

In honor of this significant milestone in my life, I present the Top 40 Things About Me, which could also probably be renamed, The Top 40 Things You Could Care Less About And Probably Won’t Read Anyway.  That’s okay, I won’t tell anyone you’re actually interested and reading. 1.  I weighed 8 lb. 10 oz.… Continue reading Debily’s Top 40

“Bear”-y Cute!

It’s taken all year, but it finally was Trey’s turn to provide snacks for our Cub Scout den.  So, being the overachieving den-leader-mother that I am, what snack do I choose to have him make? Dear Debily: An Advice Column

A friend of mine recently asked me for some advice.  I know!  ME!  Advice!  Whodathunkit? Anyhoo, her boss was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and I guess with my husband having cancer and all she figured I might be qualified to answer the question of how to best help show support and care during this time. … Continue reading Dear Debily: An Advice Column

The requirement was to create a box to store their valentines.  It was to be a family project, fun, and would be voted on by… Continue reading The Birth of Valenstein

Threads of Gratitude: “Sew” Grateful

You know what?  I’m really blessed. I’m blessed with a wonderful family.  A family that makes me laugh, cry, and pull my hair out.  A family that keeps me on my toes and grounds me to this earth.  A family that makes my life crazy and keeps me sane.  I couldn’t live  without ’em and… Continue reading Threads of Gratitude: “Sew” Grateful

Threads of Gratitude: New Jeans Edition

Today, I am grateful for new jeans. You see, these aren’t just any new jeans.  These were way-down-on-sale jeans.  Like $10, originally $50.  These were also size 12 jeans.  That’s right.  Size 12.  As in two-sizes-smaller jeans, I-haven’t-worn-size-12-in-14-years jeans, I-was-barely-squeezing-into-size-16-jeans-in-August-but-couldn’t-bear-to-admit-I-was-a-size-18 jeans. To me, these jeans are more than just confirmation that yes, indeed, I HAVE… Continue reading Threads of Gratitude: New Jeans Edition
